Who I am
Hi, I am Persephone~Tara~Khadijah, I have the Soul of a Gypsie, Heart of a Hippie and a Spirit of a Fairy. Most people simply call me Tara.
My journey into the inner world began early. I started meditating in 1988, long before I knew where it would lead. Yoga arrived in my life in 1994, and that practice became a steady companion — grounding me, strengthening me and eventually guiding me into teaching.
By 1999, I was sharing yoga with others, and later became the space holder that was Cronulla Yoga Centre, which I ran for 15 years. Those years taught me the depth of community, the value of clear alignment, and the joy of witnessing students grow at their own pace.
Music has been woven into my life just as deeply. I began piano at age eight in the traditional style, paused for many years, and rediscovered my love of playing when I found the Simply Music method around 2008. Inspired by how playful and accessible it was, I began teaching piano through this method in 2012, sharing it with students of all ages.
Then, in 2015, West African drum and dance entered my world — opening a new pathway of rhythm, community and cultural respect. I’ve learned with Mohamed Bangoura in Canberra and studied with him in Guinea in 2018, a journey that deeply shaped my appreciation of rhythm as a universal language of connection.
All of these streams — movement, music, rhythm, story — flow into Spirit In Harmony.
Here, I offer them with warmth, clarity, and a deep respect for each person’s unfolding.
